SPORTS PHYSIOTHERAPY

Sports injuries are different from everyday cuts and bruises. While playing any sport, the player is pushed to the brink which affects their muscles and joints. Sports Physiotherapy is required to prevent and minimize the impact of strenuous sporting activities on an athletes’ body. It is used to prevent injuries. Incase a child gets hurt while playing, physiotherapy allows the kid to recover faster and in the safest method possible.
Children undergo many musculoskeletal changes as they grow. When it comes to them playing sports, their aches and pains are looked down upon. Youngsters are usually told to act tough and play through the pain. This attitude is not in the best interests of a young athlete who is aspiring to become a professional sportsperson one day. Kids need to be educated about the good and bad pain, when to stop and when to push through the pain. They also need to be taught how to take care of themselves on their own when they get injured when there is no professional help around.
The Sports Science team of USM can diagnose an injury, develop a treatment plan specifically for your child and work on preventative management over a long term so that the injury does not come back.
